October 5, 2006: Padres 9 Phillies 4 (Padres lead series, 2-0)
Sunday, November 11, 2007
| The middle of the Padres order proves to be too much for Cole Hamels and the Phillies, and the Padres take a 2-0 series lead. #4,5,6 hittters Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Bard, and Mike Cameron each ahd 2 hits while #7 hitter Russell Branyan had a 2 run homer, a walk, a HBP, and a sac fly in his 4 plate appearances. Chris Young of the Padres almost got the complete game victory, but got into trouble in the 9th and needed Chan Ho Park to finish off the Phils. The Padres will try to close out the series in game 3 in Philadelphia with the Fat Man, David Wells, on the mound. The Phillies will counter with Jon Leiber. |
