2006 AL MVP: David Ortiz (BOS)
2006 NL MVP: Jimmy Rollins (PHI)
2006 AL Cy Young Award: Joe Nathan (MIN)
2006 NL Cy Young Award: Trevor Hoffman (SD)
Notes:
This is the third win in a row for Ortiz. Remarkably, the AL MVP for all 6 of my replays has been from the Red Sox. (Manny in 2001, Nomar in 2002 and 2003). Rollins .314/38/85 and 27 steals shows that the Strat MVP point system favors the 5-tool player over the big power hitter - his teammate, Ryan Howard, finished 4th in the voting with a .291/54/150 season.
Both Cy Young Award winners are closers for the first time in my 6 years of replays. This is something that has never happened in real life. Both of "my" closers (Papelbon and Cordero) finished 4th in the Cy voting in their respective league.
