| The Red Sox beat the Yankees by a final of 4-1 behind an impressive performance by Curt Schilling. Schilling allows 4 hits, 1 run, and 3 walks over 8 innings...or more exactly, over 3 innings. After Jason Giambi's RBI single in the 3rd, Schilling retired the next 16 Yankee batters before giving way to Jonathan Papelbon who earns his 3rd save of the series and his 29th of the season. The Sox drew first blood in the 2nd on back-to-back homers, a 2 run shot by Mike Lowell and an inside-the-park job for Wily Mo Pena. |
