August 16, 2006: Nationals 6 Braves 5 (10)
Saturday, September 01, 2007
| The Nationals use the longball to overcome a 4-run deficit and get the win over the Braves in 10 innings. Nats starter Billy Traber did not last long, getting chased in the third by back-to-back jacks. The Nats would allow one more run in the inning, but the bullpen would keep the Braves from scoring again while the bats finally came alive in the 7th. The Nats get 4 runs in that inning on a 2-run Brian Schneider homer and back-to-back solo shots from pinch hitter Daryle Ward and Alfonso Soriano. In the 10th, the Nats would load the bases thanks to a single and 2 walks, then the Braves would go to closer Bob Wickman who walked Brian Schneider to push the winning run across the plate. |
