August 15, 2006: Red Sox 5 Tigers 0
Sunday, August 26, 2007
| Curt Schilling makes it 2 straight shutouts for the Red Sox with a 5-0 win over the Tigers. Schill was not quite as dominant as Beckett was the day before, but he scatters 6 hits over 9 innings for the shutout. Although they were outhit by the Tigers, the Sox managed to push runs across thanks to the 7 walks issued by Tiger pitchers as well as a critical 1st inning error by SS Carlos Guillen. The Sox also got a 2 run homer from Big Papi in the 2nd. The Sox will try to make it a sweep of the Tigers next, then await the big 5-game showdown with the Yankees. |
