August 18, 2006: Phillies 4 Nationals 2
Sunday, September 02, 2007
| Like so many other teams this year, the Nationals go down to the Phillies and their big bats. The Nats drew fist blood in this one on a Ryan Church solo shot in the 4th, but the Phils tie it up in the 5th and then go ahead in the 6th on a Ryan Howard solo shot. The Nats would tie it back up in the 7th, but the Phils would strike right back when Chase Utley goes yard with a runner on. The Phillies would hold on for the 4-2 win. |

WEB GEMS- Bot 7th: Felipe Lopez robbed Shane Victorino of a base hit.
Chase Utley jacked one out of the ballyard and had 2 RBI at Citizen's Bank
Park as the spectacular Philadelphia Phillies beat the Washington Nationals
by the count of 4 to 2.
Philadelphia scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning. After two outs
David Dellucci got things rolling when he doubled. Utley was next and he
lifted one out of the park for a two run home run (his 32nd of the season).
Brett Myers(12-5) got help from Arthur Rhodes who pitched great and earned
his 1st save.
Jon Rauch(3-3) absorbed the loss in relief. He pitched 1 inning giving up 2
hits and no walks. 'I had a little blister on my index finger before the
game, but I thought it was nothing.' Myers said. 'I was lucky I got a win
because I couldn't put the ball where I wanted it.'
