| The Sox couldn't come up with a late game comeback in this one. The Yanks get home runs from A-Rod and Bobby Abreu, but the real damage is done by Bernie Williams who went 4 for 5 with 3 doubles, a HR, and 6 RBI. |

Bernie Williams had 4 hits and 6 RBI as the spectacular New York (AL) Yankees
beat the Boston Red Sox by a score of 13 to 6.
Williams provided much of the offense. He doubled plating a run in the 4th
inning, doubled which plated a run in the 6th inning, doubled plating three
runs in the 7th inning and smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' (his 12th of the
season) in the 9th inning. New York (AL) had 14 hits for the afternoon while
Boston had 10.
Randy Johnson(14-3) got the win allowing 3 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings. Josh
Beckett(13-10) suffered the loss. 'I didn't feel that good when I came to
the park today,' Williams said. 'I'm glad I decided to play!'
