Alex Rodriguez added four ribbies to his seasonal total with one swing of the
bat as the New York (AL) Yankees man-handled the Boston Red Sox - the final
score was 14 to 0.
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Rodriguez. He doubled in the 3rd inning, launched a Grand Slam
homerun (his 34th of the season) in the 4th inning and laced a base-knock in
the 6th inning. For the game New York (AL) out-hit Boston 17 to 6.
The victory went to Jaret Wright(10-5) who went 5 and 1/3 innings, allowing no
runs. Kyle Snyder(1-6) was hit with the loss. He was not very effective,
surrendering 6 runs in 3 innings.
The winning ways continue for New York (AL). They now have a record of 9-1 in
recent days. With the loss, Boston has a record of 7-3 lately, 88-61
overall.
