At McAfee Coliseum, the Oakland fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel.
Esteban Loaiza(7-9) finally bested his Boston opposite, Kason Gabbard(0-1),
by the score of 2 to 0.

Oakland took the lead for good in the bottom of the 3rd inning scoring a
single run on 2 hits. That early scoring held up. Oakland had a total of 7
hits for the game.

Loaiza was helped out by Kiko Calero who recorded his 6th save. Gabbard was
tagged with the loss. He surrendered 5 hits and 6 walks in 5 innings.
