August 24, 2006: Red Sox 10 Angels 0

This one was a nail-biter of a pitcher's duel between Josh Beckett and Jered Weaver, but turned into a laugher when the Sox put up 7 runs in the 8th inning. Weaver is the hard-luck loser, going 7 innings and allowing just one run on a homer to Eric Hinske in the 2nd. Beckett was lights out though, allowing just 3 hits and 2 walks through 8 innings, with one hit and both walks coming in the 8th when he was tiring. Manny Delcarmen comes in for the 1-2-3 9th.

The Sox scored 9 runs in the 8th and 9th innings, mostly powered by the longball. David Ortiz made it 3-0 with a 2 run shot, then Dustin Pedroia makes his first career homer a memorable one by clearing the bases for a grand slam. Hinske would add another one in the 9th, followed by a Wily Mo Pena solo shot to put the Sox in double digit scoring.
