| The Blue Jays complete the 4-game sweep of the Red Sox, and in the process move into a tie with the Red Sox for 2nd place in the AL East. This one was over from the start, as the Blue Jays scored 3 runs off Josh Beckett in the first and would eventually get 9 hits, 3 walks, and 5 runs off him in 4 1/3 innings. |

Center fielder Vernon Wells hit 2 doubles and had 3 RBI at Fenway Park as the
Toronto Blue Jays beat the Boston Red Sox by the count of 7 to 2.
Toronto took the lead off Josh Beckett in the first inning when they scored 3
runs on 4 hits. That was all the runs Gustavo Chacin(4-5) needed. Toronto
finished with 14 hits while Boston ended up with 7.
Jeremy Accardo gained credit for his 7th save. Beckett(15-11) was the loser.
He was knocked around by Toronto, allowing 9 hits and 3 walks in 4 and 1/3
innings.
Toronto won for the 6th straight time.
