At RFK STADIUM the Houston Astros outscored the Washington Nationals 7 to
4.

Washington was unable to recover after Houston went ahead in the top of the
5th inning when they scored 2 runs on 1 hit. The critical plate appearance
was by Jason Lane who silenced the crowd when he bombed a two-run dinger (his
3rd of the season). Washington had 12 hits in the game while Houston had 5,
but Houston had the more timely hits.

Wandy Rodriguez(3-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 and 2/3 innings
and allowing 3 runs. Rodriguez got help from Brad Lidge who was credited with
his 9th save. Zach Day(1-3) was the losing pitcher. He allowed Houston 6
runs in 5 innings of work.
