In a game for the baseball purist, Tony Armas Jr(2-2) and Jason Marquis(1-3)
squared off in a tense pitching duel, Washington Nationals finally emerged
victorious over St. Louis Cardinals, 2 to 0.

Washington brought 2 runs across the plate in the top of the 5th inning when
they had 3 base hits. They would hold up as the winning runs. For the game
Washington out-hit St. Louis 7 to 4.
