| The Astros punch their ticket to the NLCS behind Roger Clemens, who went 5 shutout innings on short rest and was able to hand a 6-0 lead over to Dave Borkowski, who took them the rest of the way to the 6-1 win. The offense was provided by Luke Scott's 2 run homer in the 4th and a 4 run outburst in the 6th that was fueled by Scott's double, Aubrey Huff's 2 RBI single, and Craig Biggio's 2 run homer. The series MVP is Clemens, who pitched just 5 innings in each of his starts but had a 0.90 ERA. He was the hard luck loser in game 2. |
