October 22, 2006: Astros 7 Twins 3 (series tied, 1-1)
Thursday, November 29, 2007
| Despite getting outhit, the Astros get the 7-3 win in game 2 to even the World Series at a game apiece. The Astros did it all with the long ball. Craig Biggio started the scoring in the 2nd on a 2 run homer which was immediately followed by a Brad Ausmus solo shot, Biggio got another 2 run shot in the 6th, and Mike Lamb hit a solo homer in the 7th and again in the 9th. Astros starter Roy Oswalt allowed 10 hits over 7 innings, but only allowed 2 runs and earned the win. Brad Lidge pitched a perfect 8th but struggled in the 9th, which enabled Dan Wheeler to earn the save by inducing a double play to end the game. Originally I was going to use Andy Pettitte in game 3 for the Astros, but instead I decided to push Clemens up to game 3 on normal rest which would set him up for a potential game 7 start. Clemens has been much better thus far in the playoffs. The Twins will counter with Brad Radke. |
