September 9, 2006: Red Sox 6 Royals 4
Wednesday, October 10, 2007
| The Red Sox extend the Royals losing streak to 14 games, although for a while it didn't look like that was going to be the case. The Royals strike for 3 runs off Josh Beckett in the 3rd, while the Red Sox only come up with 1 run through the first 6 innings off Royals starter Luke Hudson. I tood advatange of the extended September rosters in the 7th and did some substitutions, and it worked to perfection with pinch hitter Eric Hinske who hit a 2 run home run to tie the game. Mark Loretta entered the game after the 7th as a defensive replacement of sorts, and ends up adding a 3 run homer of his own to take the lead in the bottom of the 8th. Mike Timlin gets the benefit of Loretta's home run and gets his 10th win of the season against no losses. Papelbon has a rough 9th, but holds on for his 35th save. |
