The Nationals are now 4-0 on their west coast swing, beating the Giants 5-4. Nick Johnson provided all the offense for the Nats, going 3 for 5 and knocking in all 5 runs. His big hit was a 3-run homer in the 3rd. The Giants almost came back in the 9th, closing to within a run after a 2 run Shea Hillenbrand homer, but Pedro Feliz struck out to end the game.

Pedro Astacio pitched a strong 8 innings for his 2nd win in a Nats uniform, while Chad Cordero weathered the Hillenbrand homer for his 23rd save.

Nick Johnson touched them all and had 5 RBI as the Washington Nationals
defeated the San Francisco Giants by the score of 5 to 4 at SBC Park.

The San Francisco fans didn't appreciate the big day Johnson had. He doubled
bringing in a run in the 1st inning, belted a three-run homer (his 18th of
the season) in the 3rd inning and doubled in the 8th inning. Overall
Washington out-hit San Francisco 11 to 4.

The win was credited to Pedro Astacio(2-3) who went 8 innings allowing 2 runs.
Astacio was helped out by Chad Cordero who recorded his 23rd save. Noah
Lowry(2-8) took the loss.
