July 31, 2006: Indians 7 Red Sox 5
Thursday, August 02, 2007
| David Wells pitches well for 5 innings in his return from the disabled list, but it all goes to hell in the 6th. Wells actually no hit the Indians until there were 2 out in the 5th, when Hector Luna broke it up with a single into center field. Wells was out of gas though by the time the 6th rolls around, and he allows 2 runs on 2 hits and 2 walks before being pulled in favor of Kyle Snyder with the bases loaded. Snyder faces Jhonny Peralta, and wouldn't you know that Peralta plants one in the seats for a grand slam home run and a 6-2 lead. The Sox would get 3 back in the 7th on a Crisp RBI single and a Papi 2 run shot, but they couldn't get enough to tie it and the Indians walk away with a 7-5 win. |
