Jack Wilson slammed a homerun and had 4 RBI as the Pittsburgh Pirates topped
the Washington Nationals by a score of 12 to 7 at PNC Park.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Wilson. He bombed a two-run dinger (his 7th of the season) in
the 3rd inning, hit a single in the 7th inning and stroked a one-base hit
which was good for two runs in the 8th inning. Pittsburgh had a total of 15
hits for the game.

Matt Capps(5-2) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing 2
runs. Saul Rivera(1-5) was charged with the loss in relief. By giving up 4
runs without retiring a batter his ERA increased from 4.50 to 5.79.
