Fielding gaffes were the name of the game in this one. The Red Sox made 2 errors and the Marlins made 3, and it was the errors by Jason Hermida and Miguel Cabrera which directly led to 2 Red Sox runs in the 5th which would end up being the difference in the game.

Trot Nixon had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at Dolphins Stadium where the Boston Red
Sox beat the Florida Marlins 5 to 4.

In the top of the 4th inning Boston went on top for good scoring a single run.
Florida threatened in the 9th but Boston was able to put down the rally.

Tim Wakefield(7-6) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 5 innings.
Jonathan Papelbon gained credit for his 15th save. Brian Moehler(2-6) was
the loser. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 7 hits and 4
walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.

Terry Francona was beaming after the game, 'Not only were we making good
contact, but a lot of balls we hit seemed to have 'eyes'! I just love winning
these tight ones! It was just our evening - no doubt about it!'
