| This was a bizarre game. Based on Eude Brito's stats it looks like he sucks, yet he went 6 innings without allowing a hit to the Nationals. This proves that while Eude Brito sucks, the Nationals REALLY suck. Of course, the 7 walks put him up over 100 pitches after just 6 innings, so the Phils manager pulled him and went to the bullpen. The Nationals did manage to finally get a hit, but the Phillies went on to win 3-1. |

Third baseman David Bell had 2 base hits as the Philadelphia Phillies defeated
the Washington Nationals 3 to 1 at RFK STADIUM.
Philadelphia brought 2 runs across the plate in the 2nd inning with the help

night while Washington had 2.
