June 14, 2006: Rockies 6 Nationals 5

Byung-Hyun Kim had not won a game yet this year for the Rockies. Easy solution - play the Nationals! Tony Armas Jr. pitches lights out through 5 then falls apart in the 6th. The Nats get the tying run to 3rd in the 9th with Jose Vidro up, Vidro had been 4 for 4 on the day, but he lines out to the first baseman to end it.

One run was the difference at RFK STADIUM as the Colorado Rockies defeated the
Washington Nationals 6 to 5.

Colorado came up with 5 runs in the 6th inning when they had 5 base hits. The
critical plate appearance was by Jamey Carroll who quieted the crowd when he
smacked a single bringing in two baserunners. Colorado rapped out 10 hits
for the night.

Byung-Hyun Kim(1-6) got credit for the victory, pitching 5 innings and
allowing 3 runs. Kim got relief help from Brian Fuentes who gained credit for
his 20th save. Tony Armas Jr(3-5) was tagged with the loss.
