| This one was close up until the 8th, when the Red Sox put 6 runs up to put it away. Mark Loretta got the Sox on the board first with a 2 run homer in the 3rd then added 2 more on a double in the 8th, and Manny continued his hot start with a 2 for 3 day that included a 3 run home run in the 8th. Curt Schilling pitched much better this time around and comes away with the win. |

The Boston Red Sox had an easy time of it at Camden Yards defeating the
Baltimore Orioles by a score of 8 to 3.
The Baltimore fans didn't appreciate the big day Mark Loretta had. He banged
out a single in the 1st inning, lifted one out of the park for a two run home
run (his 1st of the season) in the 3rd inning and doubled scoring two
baserunners in the 8th inning. Boston ended up with 14 hits for the game
while Baltimore had 7.
Curt Schilling(1-1) went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. The
losing pitcher was Bruce Chen(0-1). He allowed 9 hits and 2 walks in 6
innings.
