April 7, 2006: Orioles 2 Red Sox 1

Matt Clement pitches well enough to win in his 2006 debut, but is the hard luck loser. A Manny homer in the 2nd ends up being the only scoring for the Red Sox in this one.

Daniel Cabrera(1-0) and Matt Clement(0-1) locked horns in a pitcher's duel
with Cabrera and the Baltimore Orioles coming out on top of the Boston Red
Sox 2 to 1.

In the bottom of the 5th inning Baltimore scored 2 runs when they had 3 base
hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Melvin Mora who made the
crowd come alive when he lined a single which was good for two runs.
Baltimore finished with just 6 hits in the victory.

Cabrera was helped out by Chris Ray who recorded his 2nd save.
