April 6, 2006: Nationals 5 Mets 2
Friday, March 16, 2007
| When Ramon Ortiz first entered the league with the Angels, they called him "Baby Pedro" because of his similarity to Pedro Martinez in style and stuff. Over his career he hasn't shown that same promise, but in his Nationals debut he not only pitches like Pedro but beats Pedro in the process (although technically, Pedro did not take the loss). Ortiz also took matters into his own hands by homering in the 5th to score the Nats' only run off Pedro. However, with Pedro gone in the 9th, the Nats tack on 4 more and bring in Chad Cordero to nail down the win. |
