April 17, 2006: Red Sox 4 Mariners 1
Saturday, March 24, 2007
| The Red Sox get the Patriots Day win over the Mariners by a score of 4-1. Lenny Dinardo pitches surpisingly well in his first start, contributing 5 shutout innings before tiring in the 6th and allowing an earned run. The Mariners were within one at that point but Trot Nixon helped cushion the lead with a 2 run shot in the bottom of the inning. Although this is the Red Sox 7th win of the season, it is the first one with a save situation, which Jonathan Papelbon turns into his first save of the year. You can tell that Strat codes the attendance numbers based on the weather. We know that even with bad weather, there would have been more than 15, 354 people in Fenway Park on Patriots Day! |
