Third baseman Mike Lowell hit 2 doubles and had 2 RBI at Fenway Park where the
Boston Red Sox beat the Toronto Blue Jays 7 to 1.
Boston wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning when they scored 4
runs on 4 hits. That early scoring was all that David Wells(1-0) needed.
Despite losing, Toronto out-hit Boston 12 to 8.
Gustavo Chacin(0-1) was charged with the loss. He surrendered 3 runs and 2
hits without retiring a batter.
