April 10, 2006: Nationals 6 Astros 2

The Nationals get their 2nd win of the season and hand the Astros their first loss of the young season. The Nationals did it behind a monster day from Ryan Zimmerman, who was 3 for 5 with 2 homers and 5 RBI.

The Astros loss means that the Phillies are the only undefeated team left in the majors. The Dodgers were the only winless team, but they finally got a win today.

Ryan Zimmerman ripped 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Washington Nationals
defeated the Houston Astros 6 to 2 at Minute Maid Field.

Zimmerman was a one-man wrecking crew. He doubled knocking in a run in the
4th inning, lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the 5th inning and ripped a solo
home run (his 2nd of the season) in the 7th inning. Washington had 14 hits
for the afternoon.

John Patterson(1-1) allowed 1 run in 6 innings, and picked up the victory.
Wandy Rodriguez(0-1) was hit with the loss. He was knocked around,
surrendering 5 runs in 4 and 2/3 innings.

'The ball was jumping off my bat' Zimmerman said. 'I didn't do anything
differently, it's the same way I always approach the game.'
